Coffee is the most lovable beverage, how it energizes the mood instantly, and we all know that it’s a great source of anti-oxidants, but did you know that it’s the best ingredient for skin care as well. It acts as an exfoliator and brings back the natural glow of your skin. In the ancient era, coffee was used widely in skin care products like scrubs and face masks. Coffee beans also act as an anti-aging agent and prevent wrinkles.
Since childhood, I opt for homemade scrubs and mask more than the ready-made ones. And Coffee scrub is my new favorite as it suited my skin incredibly.
I have a combination skin (oily near nose area & dry near cheeks), but this face mask is useful for all skin types except for sensitive skin.
The DIY coffee scrub can be made very quickly at home with a handful of ingredients-
COFFEE AND OLIVE OIL SCRUB
Freshly grounded coffee is more effective, but brewed coffee will also work. Take two tablespoons of coffee in a small bowl. Mix olive oil or coconut oil in equal proportion. Mix it well and apply as a scrub over face and body. Rinse gently with warm water. You will see the difference in 2-3 days.
COFFEE AND BROWN SUGAR WITH LEMON SCRUB
Take two tablespoons of freshly grounded coffee and add two tablespoons of brown sugar (or white sugar) and 1 tsp of lemon juice. Mix well and apply as a scrub over face and body. Rinse gently with warm water. Lemon is a source of anti-oxidant for neutralizing free radicals and boosting collagen production, and it helps brighten your skin naturally.
COFFEE AND CURD WITH HONEY SCRUB
Take two tablespoons of freshly grounded coffee and add one tablespoon of curd with one teaspoon of honey. Mix it well. Scrub the mixture over face and body for 10 minutes. Let it sit for a while and rinse with warm water. Honey nourishes your skin and keeps the moisture intact.
COFFEE AND MALAI SCRUB
Take two tablespoons of freshly grounded coffee and add two tablespoons of malai (milk cream). Mix it well and apply it as a scrub, rub gently over face and body. Rinse gently with warm water. Milk cream moisturizes your skin and makes it brighter.
